CSE President urged to augment trade volume

MKM Mohiuddin says at CSE Members Meeting

Chittagong,, September 24, 2006: CSE President Mr. MKM Mohiuddin in a meeting organized for the CSE Members at CSE Conference Room urged CSE Members to expand their trading network at different cities in the country. We have the Wide Area Net Work (WAN) facility, therefore our members can use WAN at different cities where a large number of investors remain uninfluenced.

Replying to the different questions raised by a Member Mr. Anwar Hossain nominated director of Hasan Shares & Securities Ltd., CSE President said setting up a professional Securities Institute in the country is progressing, Securities and Exchange Commission has taken the responsibility and trying to get shareholder from different financial institutions where CSE already approved to buy a share, very soon its final shape will take place. Mr. Anwar Hossain also requested President to discuss with SEC to uniform the settlement cycle of Z group shares with the other categories, circuit breaker should be imposed on Z group shares, market lot of CDBL shares should be multiple digit or same as before demat, price sensitive information should be disseminated by both the exchanges in equal time and manner while publishing in the daily newspapers.

Another Member Mr. Mohammed Mohiuddin, FCMA representing Island Securities Ltd. raised that CSE, DSE and SEC should pursue with the Education Ministry to frame a curriculum on Stock Market and implement it from the secondary level. Citing example in the developed countries, he said Thailand, India, Pakistan, Srilanka are adopting this awareness strategy among the students, by doing so it would help our country to create a wide range of investors from the early level. He also suggested dematting all the remaining physical shares into CDBL system, this would also help CSE to settle shares from different locations like Barisal, Rajshahi, Cox’s Bazar etc. He also wanted to know the status of Demutualization of CSE.
