CSE Members’ commemorates ORA Rasul Nizam

Amir Khosru M Chowdhury says “Nation remember a great nob

Chittagong, 23rd September, 2006: Chittagong Stock Exchange has organized today a meeting in commemoration of its former Vice President and Director Late Mr. ORA Rasul Nizam where Mr. Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury MP founder president attended as Chief Guest. CSE President Mr. MKM Mohiuddin, First Vice President Mr. Nasir Uddin Ahmed Chowdhury, Vice Presidents Mr. Fakhor Uddin Ali Ahmed, Mr. AQI Chowdhury OBE and the Directors of the Board and CSE Members were also attended meeting.

Mr. Amir Khosru M Chowdhury, MP is speaking as Chief Guest in a meeting in Commemoration of Late Mr. ORA Rasul Nizam, from his right Mr. MKM Mohiuddin President of CSE, Mr. Fakhor Uddin Ali Ahmed, Vice President and from his left Mr. Nasiruddin Chowdhury First Vice President and CEO Mr. AB Siddique are also seen in the picture.

Mr. Amir Khosru M Chowdhury MP, while addressing his remarks said, “ Mr. Nizam was a role model of human being, in every aspect we found him honest, hard worker, fabulous endurance at many events etc. Remembering Late Mr. Rasul Nizam’s cooperation while forming Chittagong Stock Exchange he said, “ When a group of our friends in Chittagong were brainstorming to form the second bourse in the country Mr. Nizam was one of them who delivered his ideas, fruitful thoughts, shared foreign experience, as a result we could form a dynamic bourse in the capital city.” He went on, “ He was also a legend in the revolution of the Tea Industry. With over 49 years of Tea Broking, Mr. Nizam became an Institution - A Legend - A man who overlooked competition from competitors because he had implicit faith in himself and in those who worked with him. A man of the highest ethical standard, caring, loving and forever smiling- a guiding light for every one of us. We will remember and miss him forever.

Earlier Mr. MKM Mohiuddin President of the Chittagong Stock Exchange while addressing his welcome speech said that “ We feel proud that a group of dignified personal in the society like Mr. ORA Rasul Nizam was closely associated with Chittagong Stock Exchange at its formation period. I personally express my heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury MP for his dynamic thinking while choosing such noble persons from the country as Member of the Chittagong Stock Exchange. In combination of those persons’ contributions CSE today stands as a transparent, efficient institution in the country. We should learn and adopt the qualities that left by Mr. Rasul Nizam. Now a days our County falls scarcity of leaders, Mr. Nizam was such type of individual that served Honorary Consul (of France) since 1969, decorated with the rare honour of “Chevalier de la Legion d’Honneur” (“Knight of the Legion of Honour”) in 2004 by the French President Jacques Chirac, the highest award given to a civilian. Earlier in 1991 he was awarded “Chevalier de l’orde National du Merite”, (“Knight in the National Order of Merit”) by the then French President Francois Mitterrand.

Among others former CSE President Mr. Mirza Salman Ispahani, Vice President Mr. AQI Chowdhury OBE, and CSE Members Mr. L H Khan, Mr. Muhammad Nurul Islam, Mr. Mohammed Mohiuddin, FCMA, late Mr. Nizams wife Mrs. Sultana Nizam, Son Mr. Ormaan Rafay Nizam addressed the congregation. CSE Directors Mr. Tareq Kamal, Mr. Abu Syed M Shahidullah, Mr. Bijan Chakroborty  and Chief Executive officer Mr. A B Siddique were present at the meeting.
