CSE’s Index CASPI hit all time high
All other indices rise too
Chittagong, January 22, 2007: Today CSE All Share Price Index crossed 4000.48 points, the highest ever mark today amid buoyant of stocks observed in Chittagong Stock Exchange.
CSE’s All Share Price Index includes all the listed scrips other than all Mutual Funds, Debentures, Suspended issues, and not traded issues over last six months.
The other popular index CSE- 30 which is a selective index introduced by CSE for its first kind in the country declined by 16 points to finish at 3630 on the day.
The base value of the above indexes (CASPI & CSE 30) set to 1000 with a base date 30th December, 1999.
CSE Selective Categories Index (CSCX) moved up by 7 points to close at 2652 on today. This index launched in CSE on 14th February, 2004 with composition of four categories A, B, G and N. The base value is also set to 1000 and base date on 15th April, 2001. The Z category shares excluded from CSCX.
All the indices recently in CSE marked significant rise and today out of 102 traded issues, 53 gained, 54 declined and 5 unchanged.
Today CSE witnessed Tk. 248 million trades while on yesterday it was Tk. 272 million. Strong support from both retail and institutional investors soared CSE trade volume day by day.
The CSE market capitalization increased about to Tk. 2 billion from 280 billion of yesterday.
CSE’s Sector Wise Index another effective analytical tool for the investors introduced by CSE for its first kind in the country showed Banking Sector crossed 15 thousand reached to 15008.51.
