SEC Member stressed on honesty and integrity by the Authorized Representatives during brokerage operation

Chittagong: August 14,2009: Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and Chittagong Stock Exchange Limited (CSE) have jointly organized a 2 days’ long training program for the Authorized Representatives of CSE Member companies which is a prerequisite for obtaining registration certificate of Authorized Representatives from the country’s regulator Securities and Exchange Commission.

Mr. Muhammad Yasin Ali, Honorable Member of SEC formally inaugurated the program today 13 August 2009 at CSE Conference Hall, Chittagong. He expressed his satisfaction on CSE for organizing an effective and useful training program for the representatives who will lead the brokerage houses in future.

He discussed briefly about the potentiality of Bangladesh Capital Market and opined that potentiality in this market is very high. He said, ‘good knowledge & skills are required to succeed in this market”.

He added that honesty and integrity are the most important things here and if any complaint is found against any Authorized Representative for doing fraud, serious actions will be taken against them including cancellation of license and thus, responsible person will not be able to work anywhere in Bangladesh Capital Market using this license.

Honorable Member urged the new Authorized Representatives to learn all the related rules & regulations of Capital Market, especially, which are related to their jobs. He also added that Authorized Representatives should know the new knowledge and technologies so that they can adapt with any changes at any level.

Executive Director of SEC, Mr. Mohammad Abdul Hannan Zoardar was also discussed briefly about Bangladesh Capital Market and he informed that the operation of the Institute of Bangladesh Capital Market is in the process to start where long term training programs will be offered. Before inauguration of the program, the Acting CEO of CSE Mr. Md. Atiquzzaman gave his welcome speech. Mr. Ahmad Dawood, Head of Finance and Company Secretary of CSE was also present at this program. Total 62 number of Authorized Representatives of CSE Member companies in Chittagong are participating in this program.
