Chittagong, December 7, 2005: After two days capital market fair, it was evident that thousands of fresh investors from different professions including students from different educational institutions visited Hotel Agrabd and marked the first time ever event with enthusiastic mood in Chittagong City.
Capital Market Participants were surprised to see the huge gathering of investors at Hotel Agrabad. Many of them quoted that we were very much benefited participating in this fair. SEC, CSE, CDBL and other Brokers who had stalls in the Fair answered different queries from the visitors. Many of the investors visited the fair said that they are very happy and appreciated CSE for undertaking such a nice and practical initiative to grow and develop the stock market in Chittagong.
While addressing concluding speech to the investors as President of Chittagong Stock Exchange, Mr. Habibullah Khan said, during my tenure I tried my best to pursue activities that our Capital Market demands. Capital Market Fair is one of them, first time ever in the country, which proved to be very useful in wooing new and reluctant investors to the stock investment.
Mr. Khan said, this fair ensured face-to-face contact with the Brokers, listed Companies, SEC, CSE or CDBL. Many of our investors have shied away the market since 1996, however we can bring them back by introducing new kind of events on share market like this fair.
Giving importance of contribution of SPONSORS in organizing this fair he said our Sponsors walked through the moral duty to help organize this kind of event for the investors. He thanked the sponsoring companies such as S. Alam Group, Bangladesh Master Stevedores Association, Citigroup, Central Depository Bangladesh Ltd.(CDBL) and Confidence Cement Ltd. for their contribution to the Capital Market Fair.
Mr. Khan also thanked the stall participants Lanka Bangla Securities Ltd., Meenhar Securities Ltd., ICB Securities Trading Co. Ltd., Salta Capital Ltd., Associated Capital Ltd., Union Capital Ltd., Island Securities Ltd., Peoples Leasing & Financial Services Ltd, IDLC, State Bank of India, Commercial Bank of Cylon, MIDAS Financing, Eastern Bank Ltd., Brack Bank Ltd., CSE, SEC and CDBL.
Before closing the Fair, Mr. Khan awarded Certificate of Participation to the Stall Participants to mark the event a memorable one.
Mr. Nasiruddin Ahmed Chowdhury, Vice President, CSE and other CSE directors Mr. Abu Sayed Md. Shahidullah, Mr. Tareq Kamal and Mr. Bijan Chakroborty and many members were present at the closing session.
