Chittagong, June 7, 2006: CSE First President Mr. Nasiruddin Ahmed Chowdhury while delivering his speech to the Malaysian Business Delegation in their visit in CSE said, “I would like to stress the need for exploring the scopes for cross border share trading between Bursa Malaysia (Kulalampur Stock Exchange) and Chittagong Stock Exchange. This opportunity will raise mutual benefit of both the economies. I believe many of you are involved with stock market investments. In this respect, I suggest you to discuss this issue with your policymakers so that the economies of Bangladesh and Malaysia could reap optimum benefit from this facility”.

He further said, CSE is always promoting foreign investors to invest in Bangladesh through capital market. I am sure, many of you have interested to start joint venture in Bangladesh. Bangladesh Government has been giving many incentives in Agro Based Sectors, Light Engineering, and Textiles for the foreign investors as well as for local entrepreneurs. It is the high time for you to grab this opportunity and align our capital market as a source of capital in your industry. He also mentioned, Bangladesh-Malaysia has been maintaining a very good relationship for long time. |

We are very happy to hear that recently Malaysian government has withdrawn the restriction on manpower import from Bangladesh. Now a large number of trained, skilled, semi-skilled manpower can be exported to Malaysia.
Our trade deficit by US dollar 265.81 million, which is disfavoring Bangladesh. Steps should be undertaken to reduce this gap for a healthy trade and business leading to a long lasting economic cooperation between the two brotherly countries. In this respect, I would like to call our business leader for increasing technical cooperation between the two countries to further develop in the key sectors like education, tourism, agriculture etc. and increase joint ventures on these sectors and raise fund from our Capital Market.
While saying on CSE’s credibility, he said, CSE has become a model Exchange in the country as an accountable, transparent and a state-of-the-art organization. It has become an indispensable institution in the capital market of Bangladesh. It is the proponent of many new concepts including trading system automation, central depository system, Internet Trading, Independent Secretariat, South Asian Federation of Exchange, Securities Training Institute etc. most of which have been materialized very successfully. CSE pioneered nationwide online trading bringing millions of investors in its investment net. Through Internet trading it will soon expand globally to attract foreign investments and cross-border trading is only a matter of time.
He requested business delegation to make one-to-one contact between the businessmen of both the countries and help us to expand our trading relationship.
Mrs. Jalilah Baba, Director, Malaysian Industrial Development Authority (MIDA) in her speech said, MIDA will speak with the Bursa Malaysia to find out possibility of regional exchange program between both the stock exchanges and also cross border listing issues. Mrs. NG Shelue Lih, Senior official of MASSA, Mr. Abdul Matlub Ahmad, Chairman of Nitol Group, Alhaj Kamal Mostafa Chowdhury Member of CSE and MCCI, Alhaj M A Bakar, Member of CSE and MCCI, Mr. A B Siddique Chief Executive Officer were present in the meeting while Mr. AKM Shahroze Alam, Deputy Manger of Corporate Development made presentations on CSE and aware business delegation about the current scenario of Bangladesh Capital Market.
